TIM Fest Again Presents a Series of Arts and Culture Activities This November

The Jakarta Culture Agency (Disbud) is about to hold the TIM Festival (TIM Fest) fr November 7 to 10, 2024, to commemorate the anniversary of Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM).

It will present a series of activities including fashion shows, art culinary, independent film screenings from young filmmakers, art, the journey of TIM and various performances from various music genres, including cultural speeches which are always the most prestigious annual agenda.
This year, the cultural speech will be delivered by renowned film Director Garin Nugroho on the theme of Ethics, Art and Democracy located at Graha Bhakti Budaya on November 10, 2024.

According to him, TIM is a place where legendary artists meet new talents, shaping the cultural landscape of Indonesia. According to him, as a center that fosters creativity and preserves Indonesia's rich heritage, TIM is a source of pride for many generations.
"This TIM can be said to be more than just a meeting place. TIM is a living tribute to the spirit of Indonesian art," he expressed, Tuesday (11/5).
PKJ TIM Technical Unit Head, Arif Rahman explained all the activities presented in the TIM Fest event were a reflection of Indonesian art works and culture, including efforts to promote the potential of Jakarta's arts and culture, on a national scale so that it would be better known and understood by the people of Jakarta.
He assessed TIM Fest can create a climate of togetherness between artists and to create innovation towards community welfare.
"This is a development of the potential and creativity of young talents in conducting arts and cultural activities, as well as an event to provide a forum for activities to innovate as a form of effort to preserve arts and culture, foster a sense of enthusiasm and love for arts and culture," he explained.
Jakarta Arts Council Division Chairman, Bambang Prihadi stated TIM's anniversary, which is celebrated on November 10, is a kind of annual celebration that brings together various forms of art ranging from traditional dance, modern theater, traditional to modern music, poetry readings, and interactive art installations.
"It is no wonder that the 56th TIM Festival is a call to action, encouraging every visitor to celebrate and contribute to the dynamic TIM ecosystem. It is a stage where the past, present and future meet, allowing new talents to connect with timeless traditions," he closed.
